Glasgow Clyde College is one of the largest further education institutions in Scotland; situated in the thriving city of Glasgow, the multi-campus college offers a wide array of educational and career opportunities. It is a College with strong roots in its local communities, and has a particular strength in the extent of its partnership working with local schools and employers. Glasgow Clyde also partners with the other Glasgow colleges, City of Glasgow and Glasgow Kelvin, contributing to a regional strategy that is framed by the Glasgow Colleges’ Regional Board. Today, Glasgow Clyde College is home to over 7,000 full-time students and 10,000 part-time students who benefit from years of industry experience and exceptional teaching standards, all delivered in modern facilities.

We are looking to appoint an innovative, strategic individual to provide clear direction and fresh leadership to the College. The role of Principal requires a commitment to being an outstanding ambassador for the College at all times and the responsibility of establishing clear organisational goals which recognise and reflect the College’s culture. We’re champions of developing the local and national economy and our experienced teaching staff are always on hand to help our students succeed, whether it’s taking their first steps into a new career or overcoming their own personal challenges. Glasgow Clyde College sees the potential of every student, no matter their goals. We understand that in a modern-day world real experience is critical to career progression and so we help our students to gain practical hands-on experience through our exclusive employer partnerships and mentorship from industry experts.

Our ideal candidate will be politically astute and evidence a real passion for the work of the College and our students, supported by experience in developing a customer or learner focussed organisation and strengthening the organisational brand. An in-depth understanding of curriculum issues and development as well as an appreciation of the FE/HE context will be crucial to successfully create a culture of high quality and continuous improvement, thereby developing the College as the major provider of learning, education and training in the communities it serves.
