The Manchester College is based at many sites across the city: from Moston and Harpurhey in the North to Wythenshawe and West Didsbury in the South, as well as several locations in the city centre. Each site has its own specialist, cutting edge facilities and resources within a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

With this in mind, we currently have exciting opportunities for 2 x Full Time Student Experience Team Leaders.

The purpose of the role is to manage a team of Student Experience Support Workers to ensure a high quality Student Experience by supporting the planning, delivery and management of a Student Experience Calendar of events; and, support provision of targeted and timely support for at-risk students. 

Key responsibilities (but not limited to) are as follows:

  • Line-manage a team of Student Experience Support Workers
  • Liaise with and lead on `at risk` meetings with curriculum and other support departments to identify and case load students 
  • Take role of a Designated Safeguarding Person and monitor timely safeguarding actions
  • Monitor the team caseload interventions to implement and deliver support strategies, including behaviour interventions, for `at risk` students who are under performing or are in danger of exclusion to improve retention and achievement
  • Identify LAC/Care leavers by campus and case load to Student Experience Support Workers
  • Liaise with relevant curriculum and business support areas to develop support mechanisms to support smooth transition from schools
  • Take operational management of the delivery and promotion of a calendar of activities and events
  • Manage the SESW team role in supporting the development of employability and volunteering opportunities and skills both within the College and in partnership with external agencies

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Qualified to Level 4
  • Minimum Level 2 English and Maths
  • Experience of working with young people and vulnerable adults. A teaching qualification would be desirable. 
  • A good level of IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Experience of forming and maintaining appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with Young People and / or Vulnerable Adults
