The Manchester College is based at many sites across the city, each with its own specialist cutting edge facilities within a friendly and supportive environment. We are the largest FE college in the UK providing education and training to a wide range of learners. As an Art and Design Lecturer you will provide supervision of your curriculum area ensuring that you meet budget, quality and operational targets. You will deliver high quality, learner focused education providing a secure and friendly environment in order for students to succeed.
In order to do this, you will need (essential):
1.A teaching qualification and subject specialist qualification at Level 4 or higher (Level 5 - new standards) such as a Higher National or Degree level qualification.
2.English & Maths qualifications - must be qualified to a minimum of Level 2
3.To show a track record of managing effective teaching learning and assessment within a Visual Arts subject specialism.
4.To be able to plan, lead and develop curriculum delivery within the department to ensure compliance with the awarding body requirements, the integration of functional skills, best practice and be able to work to quality targets.
In addition, we are keen to employ lecturers who (desirable):
1.Are able to demonstrate knowledge of how curriculum can be informed by and embed work related learning.
2.Have experience of course leadership and planning at level 2 or above.
3.Have sound working knowledge and understanding of digital workflow within the context of Visual Arts specialisms.
4.Have currency of subject knowledge in relation to creative industry requirements specifically employability and progression.
5.Are able to work more broadly across visual arts with a range of skills which could include painting, drawing, working in 3D, photography, moving image, fashion, textiles, knowledge of creative software tools, contextual studies and applying research skills to ideas development in a variety of media.
