Lecturer – Media Make-up

37 hours per week
Salary of position – £23,639 - £27,389 per annum

Media Make-up is a growing area and has had outstanding success winning a Beacon Award in 2015. It is a key area for the department of Hair and Beauty and in this role you will play a key part in contributing to the further development of this area. This will include all programmes from Level 2 to L6. We need someone who can teach specialist skills of prosthetics and bald caps and can also teach up to L6. We are currently developing a specialist degree and you would be an integral part in writing and contributing to this. You will work with students to ensure they achieve their best, and will also build excellent relationships with industry to further raise the profile of the area in the community. This job will involve regular evening and weekend work so flexibility is essential.

You will be responsible for the success of students and providing an enriched curriculum. This will include recruitment, providing advice and guidance to students on their progression routes, and developing industry links that provide them with enrichment and work experience. You will track and monitor student progress to ensure timely completion and achievement.

You will be well organised and able to manage your own workload, and will have qualifications and work experience relevant to the subject area you will be assigned to.  You will be an excellent communicator and will be able to effectively liaise with parents, employers and colleagues in College to ensure that the students on your programmes successfully progress.
