Catering Supervisor

Weeks: 38 weeks per year

We are recruiting for a Catering Supervisor to join our Catering team where you will support the Catering Services Manager and Head Chef in the provision of a professional, efficient and modern customer focused catering service to all students, staff and visitors of the College.

As a Catering Supervisor your duties will include:

  • Provide day-to-day direction and the co-ordination of duties for a team of Catering Assistants to ensure the delivery of an efficient catering service.
  • Assist with the preparation and serving of all meals and beverages to customers.
  • Maintaining excellent standards of hygiene, service and customer care.
  • Ensuring the kitchen, food / service areas and refectory are clean and tidy at all times.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety and food safety regulations.
  • Processing sales and cash register operations accurately and efficiently.  
  • Complete pre and post service checklists and to ensure that all aspects of service are ready prior to the opening and close down of service.
  • To cash up at the end of the day, reporting any discrepancies to the Catering Services Manager and ensuring correct cash handling procedures are followed by all staff.

We are looking for someone with customer service experience and experience of working in a professional catering environment.  You should hold Level 1 Food Hygiene certificate or be willing to work towards this. You should also have a good level of Maths and English. Supervisory experience is advantageous, and you should be able to work effectively within a team.

Barista training would be an advantage, but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
