Arts University Plymouth are currently seeking to appoint a Student Recruitment Events and Projects Coordinator, a key role within our institution that drives student recruitment to our Pre-Degree, Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes through the delivery of a dynamic and varied annual calendar of recruitment and profile-raising events and activities.
This role will be responsible for project managing the delivery and resourcing of all internal and external recruitment and conversion events, such as Open Days, UCAS events, school workshops etc, ensuring maximum impact, engagement and value for money. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines whilst handling multiple tasks. Experience of scheduling staff and managing budgets and logistics and an interest in arts education is highly desirable.
The Student Recruitment Events and Projects Coordinator will line manage and support the Student Recruitment Officers with the planning, promotion and implementation of student recruitment events and activities and will build and maintain relationships with schools, colleges and other stakeholders to support recruitment initiatives. They will utilise the University’s CRM system to manage events and deliver an effective communication strategy and use data to evaluate and report on the effectiveness of all activities. Experience of delivering excellent customer service and building and maintaining relationships is essential.
This role is required to travel across the UK to support a full calendar of outreach events and activities and will involve some evening and weekend work. Travel time and work taking place outside of agreed working hours will be awarded back through time off in lieu.
About You
You will have:
● Excellent organisation and project management skills and a proven record of delivering multiple projects and tasks to tight deadlines.
● Experience of scheduling teams of staff to attend and deliver events, including managing budgets, logistics and materials.
● An understanding of the FE and HE sector and the Pre-Degree, Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes offered at the University.
● Experience of building and maintaining relationships with internal and external businesses or clients.
● Flexible approach to working patterns, including some evenings and weekends.
● A clean driving licence and a willingness to travel, both unaccompanied and as part of a team, to frequent overnight events across the UK.
About The Role
● Work with key teams across the university to plan and deliver a dynamic and varied programme of internal and external recruitment, outreach and conversion events and activities.
● Project manage the delivery and resourcing of all recruitment events and activities which will include Open Days, Applicant Days, Progression Days, UCAS events, school visits and workshops, campus tours, conversion events etc, working with key stakeholders as necessary to ensure successful delivery.
● Utilise Arts University Plymouth’s CRM system to record, set up and manage recruitment event engagements (such as Open Days, schools visits etc) and to collect and manage prospective student contacts in addition to school and college contacts.
● Develop an effective communication strategy to drive engagement and conversion, compiling a schedule of automated and manual email, phone and post communications to schools and college contacts and prospective student contacts.
● Line Manage and train the Student Recruitment Officers, coordinating the team workload to resource all events, activities and tasks throughout the recruitment cycle. Manage the Student Ambassadors (SA’s) with the support of the Student Recruitment Officers.
● Build and develop relationships with schools and colleges, coordinating a full calendar of school visits and relationship building initiatives with feeder schools.
● Manage the recruitment and outreach events team budget and monitor and report on the impact of events and activities in relation to conversion across the student journey. Assess value for money and effectiveness.
● Represent the university as a brand ambassador, engaging professionally with potential students to promote interest in studying at the University, providing accurate and detailed information and delivering targeted and engaging activities.
● Working with the Postgraduate Studies and Pre-degree teams, manage the planning and delivery of a calendar of internal progression events.
● Support the FOH team with reception cover as required.
