About the role:
We are currently seeking a Head of Learning, Teaching & Assessment to join our Quality and professional development department at The Bedford College group.
As a Head of Department, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Ensure outstanding quality of education and promote high standards in learning, teaching, and assessment.
- Provide inspirational leadership and manage the Learning and Teaching Coaches Team to drive rapid improvement.
- Lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of learning, teaching, and assessment practices.
- Support and deliver professional development to maintain high-quality education.
- Ensure effective management, performance, and adherence to policies within the Directorate, keeping the student experience central.
About you:
- Full teaching qualification (PCGE, Cert Ed, QTS)
- Degree and/or vocational training at an equivalent level
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade A-C) or equivalent (Level 2)
- Proven track record of successfully leading on, and the management of, effective improvements in Learning, Teaching & Assessment
- Proven track record of delivering outstanding quality lessons
- Proven track of effectively promoting and championing best practices to staff across a range of curriculum areas leading to improvements in practice
- Experience of carrying out lesson observations/learning walks and effectively undertaking professional discussions on learning, teaching and assessment
- Experience of staff line-management with ability to motivate and develop teams of people
- Experience of producing improvement
- Excellent people management skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Good project management skills

About The Bedford College Group
