Student Voice Co-Ordinator

The Position: We’re looking for a Student Voice Co-Ordinator - 25hrs per week - 38 weeks per year

NWSLC are recruiting an enthusiastic Student Voice Co-Ordinator who will coordinate and support the Students’ Union democratic processes and systems of student engagement. They will coordinate any relevant fora, conferences and meetings. They will schedule a programme of events and activities that support the Students’ Union engagement work ensuring the student voice permeates through all levels of the NWSLC structure and decision-making processes. In addition, the post holder will provide high quality training and support to student representatives and elected officers to develop their life skills.

What skills are we looking for:

  • A recognised qualification at Level 3
  • Literacy & Numeracy qualifications to at least Level 2 or equivalent
  • Experience in leading change and working in a democratic / membership-based environment

Responsibilities for the role:

  • To support students to understand, navigate and participate in college and Students’ Union governance processes.
  • To provide coaching, mentoring and leadership for the elected Students’ Union officers and executive. Ensuring the necessary support is provided to officers for the preparation of reports to the college corporation and other committees
  • To coordinate and support the Students’ Union democratic processes and systems of student engagement.
  • To lead the Union involvement in the election, training and support of student representatives.
