Curriculum Technician / Construction & Civil Engineering

In this pivotal role, the technician will support the teaching team and all learners involved in completing tasks in the newly constructed laboratory.

As Technician at Oaklands College, your key responsibilities will include supervising and organising daily workloads, maintaining supplies, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring efficient budget management, procurement of essential resources, and the maintenance of a cutting-edge learning environment.

Additionally, you'll play a key role in recognising and reporting hazards and dangers through conducting risk assessments and COSHH assessments.

The ideal candidate will have a background in technical support across Construction and Civil Engineering, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety and excellence.

Required Skills

Essential

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a vocationally relevant area

• Forward thinking and able to prioritise/manage workload effectively

• Appreciates value of resources and seeks cost savings where possible

• Maintains accurate record keeping

• Communicates effectively

• Able to work unsupervised at times

Desirable

• Experience of working with students/trainees of all ages

• Relevant/practical experience related to particular subject area

• Experience of delivering training to students /trainees
