We are looking to recruit a Counsellor and Mental Health Officer to join our team. This is a permanent position, working 36 hours per week, 40 weeks per year. 

The role will support student success and retention by delivering high quality counselling and mental health services, including short term supportive interventions for students experiencing a range of psychological and emotional difficulties. The role also manages a caseload of students requiring ongoing assistance, providing time limited counselling, support, signposting and regular review of individual needs. It will be supporting the Lead Counsellor with comprehensive assessment of students at the point of application or referral to the service.

Richmond upon Thames College is part of the Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge College Group and is one of London’s most successful Further Education Colleges providing education and training to 16-19 year old’s and adults from across Richmond, London and Surrey, for over 80 years. We have opened a new building in 2020 and due to develop a brand-new technology-focussed STEM Centre for 2024. This exciting and innovative new learning environment is located within the grounds of the current college site, so remains convenient for public transport links – it is adjacent to the A316 and just a short walk from Twickenham rail station and a number of regular London bus routes.
