About the Role

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Curriculum Team Leader with a responsibility for programs of study across all Level 1 pathways.

You will be delivering Pathway/Transition qualifications and will be responsible for overseeing classroom-based learners.

Ideally you should have an employability background. This is a real opportunity as a passionate and innovative teacher and industry-skilled specialist to make this your own ‘Centre of Excellence’ within the region.

As a Curriculum Team Leader, you will coordinate and lead pathway provision study programmes and will deliver around 828 hours teaching, completing the relevant preparation and marking that supports this, and setting SMART targets to enable students to reach their potential. You will also supervise staff within your area and have some performance management responsibilities.

Working with a supportive team including leadership from our Curriculum Manager, and working alongside lecturers. This established team of education professionals deliver engaging practical and digital study, leading our future students to gain high quality industry standards.

You will…

In this role industry experience is essential as well as experience delivering, assessing and verifying all levels. You should have experience of co-ordination and managing a range of courses and be able to give our students an enriching experience from day one.

You must have recent experience of leading or working as part of team within an education establishment, with evidence of delivering strong outcomes and high-quality teaching and learning, plus leading a commercial environment.

You should ideally have a background in employability and relevant industry experience, a teaching qualification and an assessor’s award. You will hold at least GCSE grade 1-4 (or equivalent) qualification in English and maths. You will hold a minimum level 5 teaching qualification. You will hold an assessors award qualification An IQA qualification will also support this role.

You will be able to lead your team successfully, working collaboratively with colleagues in this area and across other subjects. You will have good contacts with industry professionals and can work with them effectively to shape our future curriculum as well as providing excellent opportunities for our students to gain first-hand experience in this area.

Department Info

Your line manager will be the Curriculum Manager and you will regularly report on your objectives to update them on a range of KPI’s including (but not limited to) student recruitment, retention, anticipated achievement, attendance and punctuality.

You will provide day to day leadership, guidance and support to Lecturers & Programme Leaders in your teams through informal methods and regular team meetings. You will also liaise with all staff that teach on your programme(s), monitoring performance indicators.
