About the Role

This is a Part-Time role: 29.6 hours per week. 

The School of Social Sciences based at Quarry Hill Campus is looking to recruit an innovative and enthusiastic Course Leader for Maths to join their dynamic team.

Are you a qualified and experienced Maths teacher with experience in delivering GCSE & Functional Skills?  Are you interested in leading GCSE Maths & Functional Skills programmes to engage & develop learner's mathematical skills?  Can you engage with young people and build enthusiasm for the subject?

What You Will Do

  • This role involves designing and delivering innovative and engaging Maths sessions to both 16-18 and adult learners of varying abilities.
  • You will work closely with the Programme Managers and will lead the Curriculum delivery of Maths, supporting other teachers & coaches in delivering engaging Maths sessions across the School of Social Sciences. 
  • You will be required to build positive relationships with both staff and learners and provide support to ensure successful outcomes. 
  • Lead on sharing good practices and standardisations to ensure high quality of delivery is maintained.    

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced teacher with a track record to improve standards in Maths that will drive learners towards their aspirational destinations. The person will have:

  • passion for their curriculum area
  • current knowledge of GCSE & Functional Skills syllabus 
  • experience of positively managing student and group progression
  • experience in supporting colleagues in the delivery of maths
  • proven commitment to continuous professional development
  • Teamwork and collaboration is essential.

The successful applicant will have an interest in developing programmes of study for harder to reach learners.
