Teacher of Travel and Tourism

Specific Hours: 22.2 hours per week, Fixed-term contract to July 2025

Derby College Group (DCG) are looking for an enthusiastic Teacher to join our fantastic Travel & Tourism department on a part-time, fixed-term basis until July 2025. We are looking for applicants who have experience teaching in Further Education, with a strong understanding of both Travel and Tourism, who are keen to teach in this area and take our learners to the next level!

The Role

Within this role you will be pivotal to the success of the Travel & Tourism provision the College delivers to students from across the East Midlands. You’ll be joining a dedicated teaching team who are passionate about the subject.

You’ll be working with learners ranging from aged 16 and up. Through the delivery of engaging teaching, learning and assessment, you will ensure they gain an in depth understanding of the Travel & Tourism industry through subjects such as;

  • Global Destinations
  • Airport Experience
  • The Principles of Marketing
  • The World of Travel and Tourism

About you

To succeed in this role, you’ll have excellent interpersonal skills, and be adept at time management and organisation to enable you to manage caseloads of work. You’ll hold a Level 3 or higher in Travel & Tourism, and have experience of working within the sector, with a desire to pass on your knowledge to workforce of the future.
