Teacher of Chemistry

The Corby Sixth Form, are currently recruiting for a Teacher of Chemistry Teachers at The Corby Sixth Form, play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:

  • Teaching Commitment: Develop students’ knowledge, skills, and understanding through agreed-upon teaching commitments.
  • Student Engagement: Motivate and engage students, fostering curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Lesson Planning: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Provide timely assessments, feedback, and progress recording to guide student improvement.
  • Retention and Success: Contribute to achieving retention and success targets for courses taught.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Degree in a relevant subject
  • Certificate in Education or equivalent in line with the Statutory Instrument
  • English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent
  • Current experience of teaching A Level in a Sixth Form or FE College environment with students 16 – 18 year olds
  • Up to date knowledge of subject area, syllabus, and teaching methods
  • Experience of using ILT to enhance teaching and learning
  • Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Evidence of understanding how to promote equality and diversity within the job role

Terms and Conditions - Sixth Form

  • Part-Time - 0.5 or 0.6 FTE
  • Directed attendance - Teachers working at The Bedford Sixth Form usually have an attendance requirement of 39 weeks (pro rata). Details of this will be communicated ahead of each academic year.
