About the role:

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our Additional Support department at our Dunstable campus. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:

  • Providing support to students with the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) accessing vocational and academic courses across the college from level one to level three.
  • Working under the direction of the Additional Learning Support Team Leader and class teacher to implement strategies in line with students’ individual support plan.
  • Being an member of the Additional Learning Support Team and to support the success of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

About you:

  • Educated to Level 2 in Maths and English
  • Relevant L3 qualification or willingness to work towards
  • Working knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
  • Experience of providing support to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in an educational or care setting
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint)
  • Ability to communicate effectively face-to-face, in writing and on the telephone
  • Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision
