Deputy Food Services Catering Manager (LUM616/1242)

We are seeking a Deputy Food Services Catering Manager to join the Food Service and Catering Department, which plays a vital role in the student experience. What You Will Do

  • Work alongside and support the Chef Managers and Catering Team with food quality and menu development to ensure food is healthy and on-trend.
  • Actively seek student and staff feedback using a variety of methods in order to shape and guide the food offer ensuring it upholds our organisation's strategy in relation to inclusivity, reducing social mobility and reducing our carbon footprint.
  • Analyse the sales/invoice data to review product sales and profit margins and implement actions to enhance the profitability of the department.
  • Carry out audits for food safety & health & safety within the cafes ensuring that mandatory training, due diligence and food signage/labelling are all in place.
  • Guide and train the Chef managers to ensure all the financial targets are achieved.
  • Conduct site visits to cafés to ensure consistency and standards are always achieved.
  • Provide effective leadership and management of direct reports in order to support and develop their professional development needs, whilst also offering support and guidance on a range of personnel issues.

About You

  • Relevant Technical professional level 3 qualification.
  • Relevant experience, knowledge and understanding of working in the catering and hospitality sector.
  • Experience in analysing data and implementing positive outcomes as a result..
  • Experience of managing Gross margins and food costs.
  • Experience of training and development of a catering team.
  • Experience of using software packages to manage stock and gross profit.
