The Opportunity

Within this role you’ll proactively lead and manage a diverse range of procurement for high value goods and services including bus transport, tractors, ICT systems and building works. You’ll be ensuring compliance with College policies and driving ‘value for money’; supporting budget holders with a combined budget of circa £16m. You will also develop and implement the College’s Procurement Strategy in line with our Financial Regulations and Public Procurement legislation, as well as an effective Procurement Policy and Purchasing Procedures to embed a ‘value for money’ approach across the organisation. The Procurement Manager role is a stand-alone position but you’ll be working very closely with the Finance team on a day-to-day basis.

About you

It is essential that you have recent experience in a procurement environment at a senior level, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and an ability to work effectively at all levels within the organisation. It is essential that you have a detailed knowledge of legal requirements regarding the procurement function, including EU/UK Procurement legislation and public sector procurement. It is desirable that you have full membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, but if not, we will support you to gain this.
