Cashier with Ledger Support

Part time (22.5hrs per week, Mondays - Wednesdays, for 52 weeks)

About the Role

The Cashier will play a key role in ensuring that the Group achieves outstanding results for students through sound financial strategy and practice. This role will offer an excellent opportunity to gain significant experience and responsibility working as part of a team assisting in a full range of finance activities.

You will be based primarily at our Rotherham site, and will manage and help to maintain the cashiering function on a day to day basis, including the online payment system. You will be responsible for receiving monies from all sites and departments within the Group ensuring that all income is banked and recorded accurately and in a timely manner. You will also support both the sales and purchase ledger teams as necessary. You will work in line with Financial Regulations and Procedures at all times.

You will recognise the importance of excellent customer service and will consistently give an excellent service when dealing with your customer base, leaving them with a positive impression of the College and the department. You will be able to manage your own workload to accommodate sometimes conflicting demands, and reprioritise your workload and respond to ad hoc requests within tight deadlines.

Previous experience in a similar role and/or similar environment is desirable with evidence of a track record in delivering similar objectives as detailed above together with English and Maths GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) grade A-C or higher and evidence of well-developed IT skills.

Department Info

You will report to the Finance Office Manager, who will give you direction, but you will plan and prioritise your day to day workload working closely with your cashier & ledger support counterpart. You will also work with other members of the finance department to ensure tasks are completed to agreed timescales.
