About the Role

The School of Engineering gears up the next generation of engineers, with passionate experts developing students’ practical skills. We focus on covering multiple aspects of each specialism, health and safety knowledge, as well as engineering principles, giving our students an advantage over competitors. Based at our Printworks Campus, you will be working in a industry standard environment as a Technician, specialising in Milling and Turning and maintaining the workshop areas.

What You Will Do

  • Support staff to produce work using specialist techniques
  • Prepare and maintain the facilities and equipment to a high standard and ensure that the areas and learners are compliant with all relevant Health and Safety Legislation
  • Oversee the technical aspects of students work and use of specialist resources and equipment across the curriculum
  • Maintain orders, stock and risk assessments.
  • Maintain regular checks of machinery and tools and servicing contracts. • Research for optimum suppliers and developments in the machinery for upgrades.

About You

  • A relevant qualification in Engineering or maintenance
  • An understanding of systems for stock control
  • Understanding of workplace H&S
  • Ability to set up, maintain and operate specialist facilities and equipment
  • Ability to work in a team or independently
  • Excellent Organisational Skills
