Who we need

We are looking for a Senior Nursery Manager, someone able to inspire others, have a clear ambitious vision, who thinks creatively, has a problem-solving approach to challenges and a commitment to partnership working. In the Early Years it’s is about leading the way, leading learning and managing a team with innovation in ways that are both practical, yet creative. Key duties include:

  • Having a vision for the nursery which is clear to the team, the parents our children and Ofsted, working closely with the Nottingham City Early Years Team.
  • To be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of Early Years quality systems. To plan and prepare materials for the team and train as appropriate.
  • To support the Nursery Manager and work in unison to meet the challenges and changes the sector faces ongoing.
  • Ensure the vision of the setting is evident and that performance is monitored.
  • To monitor and manage allocated budget by ensuring accurate information is collated and shared with the Head of Faculty, ensuring reporting requirements are met for varying funding bodies.
  • Be constant, consistent and care.

What you’ll bring

We want you to bring with you a commitment to Leadership in the Early Years which should emphasise listening and communicating, within an established team. You will have the opportunity to enhance a nursery which recognises the needs of the user groups it supports. In the ever-changing world of Early Years, you must have the skills to anticipate hazards and avoid them before they occur. Essential skills and experience you will bring:

  • A sound knowledge and understanding of SEND, Safeguarding and Child Protection.
  • Good IT skills and the ability to maintain existing nursery records and embrace new college systems as introduced.
  • Good financial skills to ensure the effective operations of the settings.
  • Have experienced managing and leading an Early Years Team (at least 3 years)
  • Have a respectful and inclusive attitude to all colleagues, families and students we support in nursery and college
