Your primary role will be to support the SEND Manager in the implementation of the SEND Code of Practice ensuring it is adhered to.  To ensure High Need and SEND students receive the appropriate support to ensure they are successful in their journey through college.

We are looking for someone who has experience of SEND in a post 16 setting and wishing to progress into management.  You should have knowledge and experience of different funding streams and be able to support curriculum teams in the delivery of Quality First Teaching as the first line of support.  As the deputy manager you will need to demonstrate effective line management within a large developing team.

The primary purpose of the post is to lead a team of SENDCO’s across the college and support the implementation of new policies and processes.  You will need to have excellent IT skills to run reports and act upon statistical data.

The qualifications deemed essential for this post include an HE qualification in SEND, a Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C). The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is also essential for the post.
