City College Coventry are currently looking to appoint a qualified Teacher/Course Organiser in Performing Arts to teach on our well established Level 1 – 5 performing arts courses, specifically within the Dance discipline. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of both theory and practical lessons with an expectation to teach the full range of courses, specialising in the delivery of dance units.
The post holder must have experience of choreographing/directing performance work and developing performance projects. This post also involves the design of curriculum delivery as well as providing pastoral support for our learners. It is essential for the successful candidate to be well versed with a variety of dance styles including contemporary, ballet, jazz, choreography, improvisation and musical theatre as well as possess the ability to deliver the appropriate academic subjects such as dance appreciation, historical context of performance, and performing arts business.
Candidates must have:
- Level 2 Maths and English Qualifications
- Degree level qualification in Performing Arts
- Level 5 Teaching Qualification e.g. PGCE/Cert Ed/DTTLS or equivalent
- Range of skills in choreography and creating performances
- Strong vocational/performing arts experience would be highly advantageous
