In the role of Health and Wellbeing Coordinator, you will be based in our Waterfront Gym at our Huddersfield Campus with the focus of driving physical activity rates amongst our student and staff population by delivering upon an outstanding enrichment offer. We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual with the ability to enthuse, motivate and inspire. The successful candidate will facilitate ‘Rock up and train’ gym sessions, classes, competitions and events on behalf of the college.
This will include the planning, delivery and the analysis of the programme to helping grow participation rates. You will also be responsible for overseeing gym operations, maintaining a clean and safe gym area. The ideal candidate will have a background in physical activity, sport, fitness or health to coordinate all gym-based activities. Experience of working within an education setting is desirable. Excellent organisational skills, the ability to work autonomously and be an excellent communicator are key competencies required for this role. It’s important that you’re able to communicate effectively and engage with young people and demonstrate our College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.
To be considered for this role applicants need to demonstrate they hold a minimum of Level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy (e.g., GCSE English and Maths at grade 4+) and a related industry qualification at Level 3 with relevant industry experience. We could support the right candidate if these are not yet obtained through our extensive in-house training programmes. We would welcome applications with experience of assessing learner performance and be able to contribute to our growing “Fitness Academy” programme.
