About the Role
The IT Helpdesk Admin Apprentice is a key part of the College’s IT Services Team, working within a team that supports both learners and staff throughout the year. This role is extremely important in assisting the IT Services team to achieve its goals which link into the College’s vision.
The IT Helpdesk is a busy hub for all IT related queries and you will be working as part of a team to support the service. As part of this role you will be responsible for assisting in the running of the IT Services Helpdesk alongside the IT Helpdesk Team. You will report IT issues on behalf of staff and students and provide a first-class customer service to internal/external customers. You will work with a range of Microsoft Office/Google Packages to produce documents to a high standard and in a timely manner and develop knowledge of internal systems.
We will ensure that you learn business administration processes and systems. Specifically, we will help you to develop skills in understanding different types of information such as: word processing, data analysis and inputting, producing and distributing a variety of correspondence, reports and documentation. You will maintain a range of information systems used throughout the College and be committed to providing an excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.
Through a proactive, enthusiastic and customer focused approach you will help the College achieve our mission to provide skills for the future of our students and community, through outstanding teaching and learning. Your work will ultimately lead to increased number enrolments, highly accurate data plus positive development of the College reputation.
In this role you will a wide range of skills in business administration, customer experience and IT. You will undertake a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship Standard. You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent i.e. GCSE C/4) qualification in English and Maths or be willing to work towards.
You may have previous experience working in an administrative or customer service type role, either as paid employment of volunteering. You will have a good standard of communication skills using a variety of methods and be confident to thrive is a busy customer service environment.
As a IT Helpdesk Administration Apprentice you will report to the 1st Line Team Lead and work as part of the IT Services Team alongside other Apprentices and Administration colleagues. You will also closely with other IT Services colleagues and be in contact with wider college staff and external providers.
