Programme Manager - Adult and Community Projects (LUM377/831)
About the Role
The Projects Manager will play a pivotal role in our Adult & Community department, responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with key external partners in the education sector. This role will focus on developing projects with partners such as JCP/DWP, Leeds City Council, Princes Trust, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance educational opportunities for 19-30 NEET (Not in Education, Employment, Training) learners. The role involves collaboration with the college's Adult & Community staff and the development and delivery of a tailored curriculum package to meet the specific learning needs of this NEET target group, with the aim of supporting their employability prospects.
Our Adult provision was graded as Outstanding by Ofsted in May 2022. In 2022-23 there were over 5000 students with a team of 200, bringing education and life-changing experiences to our students.
The team are based predominantly at the Enfield Centre, and with 16-19 (sixth form) groups in North Street, and smaller provision at Eastgate, Beeston, Deacon House and some outreach centres. We teach Mon-Thurs from 09:30-21:00 and Fridays from 09:30-15:00.
What You Will Do
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with DWP, Princes Trust, and internal ACE staff to develop a curriculum package that addresses the unique learning needs of 19-30 NEET learners. Ensure that the curriculum aligns with the goals and objectives of all stakeholders involved.
- Key Point of Contact: Serve as key point of contact for this project (19-30 NEET) with DWP, Princes Trust and other relevant organisations working with the ACE department.
- Relationship and Project Building: Identify and establish new relationships and projects with external partners and key stakeholders in the education sector. Explore potential collaborations, new projects and partnerships that can benefit the ACE department's mission and objectives.
- Line management: Line manages tutors in a curriculum area, and is responsible for positive outcomes for staff and students.
- Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE)
- Relevant up to date subject knowledge and recent delivery in the Further Education or school sector.
- Extensive experience, knowledge and skills to enable delivery of a range of levels across the A / I / MT Person Specification curriculum, which demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles.
- Proven commitment to continuous professional development
- Experience of positively managing student and group progression, advice and guidance in a school or Further Education setting, with positive outcomes
