ALS Specialist Tutor
You will be part of the Additional Learning Support team delivering high quality specialist teaching interventions for students with SEND or support needs.
You will develop and promote support in area of expertise – Dyslexia, Literacy, Numeracy and/or Language. As part of the role, you will be responsible for carrying out initial assessments, access arrangements for exams and delivering teaching support as part of the Additional Learning Support teaching team across college.
Some of the tasks required are
- To teach individualised ALS interventions on a range of further education provision and assess students as required.
- To carry out Access Arrangements Assessments for students with SEND for examinations compliant with JCQ requirements.
- To contribute to the identification, planning, support and progression of students with SEND including those with EHCPs of all ages and across all provision – 16-19, Adults and Apprentices.
- To liaise with curriculum areas to advise on classroom adjustments, exam arrangements and development of support plans.
