Finance Manager

Supporting and reporting to the Finance Director you will manage the financial accounting and payroll service delivery for the college and university, ensuring service delivery is carried out in line with set procedures, standards and deadlines.

A committed and focused professional, you will ideally be a qualified or part qualified accountant although relevant financial management experience will be considered.

With a proven record of leading, developing and managing a Finance Team, you will produce highly accurate month end accounts and be at ease in preparing statutory returns as required.

Ensuring compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements, you will work closely with the Finance Director for the provision of monthly reports for Governors, senior management team and budget holders

Your excellent communication skills will allow you to explain, sometimes complex financial matters, in a clear and concise way and allow you to communicate effectively with exterior bodies such as auditors and banks.

Your sound understanding of underlying systems and controls required to secure sound and effective financial management, will be put to good use in this role and a good understanding of Education funding including ESFA/DFE/OfS, would be very advantageous.
