Curriculum Development Manager - A Levels

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to lead a dynamic team as Curriculum Development Manager for the A Level team at Selby College, part of the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group. This is an exciting and well-established area within the College. This is an opportunity for someone who has good leadership skills and is keen to help develop and grow the area further.

The role includes assisting the Head in managing and developing the curriculum, including managing of staff and resources in the area. The successful candidate will improve outcomes for students by achieving and maintaining high standards of performance through tracking and monitoring students and inspiring staff and students.

The successful candidate will provide leadership for the development of up-to-date materials and resources to support curriculum development, teaching and learning, support the implementation of local and corporate strategies, improve the delivery of schemes of work, assessment, reporting and recording of student achievement. The successful candidate will celebrate student success, facilitate the sharing of good practice and engage positively with local employers and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a shared responsibility for the performance of courses through monitoring of the area's performance against Key Performance Indicators including, recruitment rates and targets, success, retention and achievement rates, value added, and by supporting the team to ensure compliance with the College's quality assurance procedures.

The successful candidate will line manage staff within the area and support the Head of Curriculum with other aspects of management including, recruitment, selection and induction of new staff to the area.

As Curriculum Development Manager for A Levels, you should have:

-A relevant degree or professional qualification of an equivalent level

-Relevant PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification is desirable

-GCSE A*-C / 9 - 4 in English and Maths or equivalent

-Experience of teaching A-level Biology or Business would be an advantage.
