About the Role
This is an opportunity to join our experienced and passionate team based at the Quarry Hill Campus at Leeds City College, part of the Luminate Education Group. The department of Music and Performance Production has more than 500 learners, predominantly 16-18 years old, studying Musical Theatre, Music Production, Dance, Music Performance, Theatre Design and Production, and Acting.
The state of the art campus opened in September 2019, and is home to fantastic facilities including the 180 seat Chroma-Q theatre; 5 dance studios; 2 recording studios; TV production facilities; screening room; practice rooms; and Theatre Design workshops. We are looking for committed, creative and innovative colleagues who are excited by the possibilities that working in our team will offer.
What You Will Do
- Prepare for and deliver classes to student groups across all levels within the Music department, with clear intentions and well-defined outcomes.
- Deliver taught classes in our well equipped studio spaces and theatre
- Manage student progress and achievement through the modules you deliver.
- Evaluate students' work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Participate in internal and external quality assurance processes
- Take part in activities relating to recruitment of students (open evenings, interviews etc)
- Be an active member of staff teams, contributing to curriculum development, course reviews and School of Creative Arts activities.
- Participate in personal development, working to develop your own professional knowledge and skill set.
About You
- Graduate qualification in Music Performance or Production.
- A creative, enthusiastic and forward thinking practitioner with a conscientious and organised approach.
- The ideal candidate will work well as part of a team and be resilient, adaptable and enthusiastic with experience of music industries.
- You are student focused, building a supportive and creative environment for students to develop their practical skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a restorative approach to classroom management.
- You will promote excellence and continuously improve practice.
- Able to commit to regular evening sessions up to 7pm
