Who we need
The desired candidate will be expected to effectively contribute towards the delivery of a high-quality educational experience for all D/deaf, Hard of Hearing, Deafened and Deafblind students, in a way that is appropriate and responsive, and which displays the highest standards of customer care.
In addition to communication support in the classroom, you will be delivering bespoke Deaf Awareness programmes and events to peer groups, lecturers in a variety of curriculum areas and customer-facing personnel. You will also be assisting in the development of Teaching, Learning and Inclusion Plans for deaf students and provide one-to-one support on an ongoing basis to reinforce teaching and assignments/study skills. A high level of BSL skills at a minimum of Signature Level 6 in interpreting is essential.
