About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the established Apprenticeship team within our further education college of the University of Derby. Buxton and Leek College has campuses based in Leek, Staffordshire and Buxton, Derbyshire and Derby. You will join the Education & Early years team, we offer apprenticeships at Level 3 and Level 5 in Education.
You will be teaching on the teacher training apprenticeship which includes the CertEd qualification, (Level 5 Learning & Skills Teacher). You’ll have Industrial expertise in teacher training, readily apply initiative, demonstrate a commitment to working as a team member and produce work of a high quality.
This role includes delivering the apprenticeship standards and visiting the apprentices at their employer and developing their skills, knowledge and behaviours. You'll assess the candidates and prepare the apprenticeship standards for their end point assessment. You'll also plan the delivery of the standards for the practical and associated learning.
Your role will include maintaining records and e portfolios, plan off the job training, maintain good relationships with apprentices and external stake holders. You will also be expected to attend events and open days.
This is a part time role, 0.6 FTE (3 days per week)
