About the Role

HE Engineering in the HE STEM Department gears up the next generation of engineers, with passionate experts developing students’ practical and theoretical skills, together with solid understanding of industrial requirements, management and standards. We focus on covering multiple aspects of each specialism, health and safety knowledge, management, as well as engineering principles, giving our students an advantage over competitors.

Our engineering department facilities allow learners to gain relevant engineering skills and knowledge.  These include mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, and robotics.

The learners study at Level 4. You will oversee a group of learners, ensuring that they are supported throughout the year to achieve the best they can.

What You Will Do

  •  You will be visiting apprentices on site within the Leeds and wider Yorkshire area (including Huddersfield and Harrogate) to assess all work related elements of the Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing technician qualification (or similar).
  • In addition it will be your responsibility to prepare apprentices for the End Point Assessment (AM2S). 
  • You will be using OneFile e-portfolio system, so experience of this would be an advantage.

About You

  • Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent) or commitment to gaining within 24 months of commencement of employment
  • Relevant highest level vocational qualification or degree in Engineering
  • Knowledge and experience within the curriculum areas industry
  • Experience of creating and maintaining professional relationships with employers.
  • Able to prepare and deliver training sessions in curriculum area.
