Arts University Plymouth (AUP) are looking to recruit a Student Data and Returns Officer to join our Data & Insight team. The successful candidate will play an important role in the institution by managing the integrity and quality of all our student data and leading on the preparation of the University’s vital regulatory returns.

Our ideal candidate will have experience preparing regulatory returns in a Further or Higher Education environment, as well as strong data manipulation and analysis skills. As the expert in a number of areas for a small data team in an ambitious university, you will need to be a creative, conscientious, independent problem-solver with an excellent eye for detail. The role will be predominantly based on campus with some homeworking possible each week, and is offered on a full-time basis.

About you:

● You will be a proactive problem-solver with an eye for detail, able to interpret complex documentation.

● You will have experience preparing statutory returns for a Further or Higher Education institution.

● You will have experience querying, manipulating and analysing student data and working with student record systems in an education environment.

About the role:

● You will be expected to lead and be the expert on the collection, quality, completeness and accuracy of the data on our student record system (currently UNIT-e) covering the whole student lifecycle.

● You will be responsible for managing the cleaning, preparation of data for all of AUP’s statutory student data returns ensuring that it complies with the specification and requirements of the regulatory bodies.

● You will contribute to the work of the Data & Insight team by responding to ad-hoc requests for data or analysis, contributing to committees and projects, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve our data and processes.
