Learning Support Assistant Coordinator - NNC

About the Role

The Learning Support Assistant Co-ordinator role is a critical one in ensuring that support for students is organised in a way that provides the most appropriate support for students, in line with the funding available for the support.  Through effective day to day co-ordination and line management of Learning Support Assistants you will enable students with learning differences and/or disabilities to achieve their best and to enjoy a fully inclusive College experience. 

This is therefore a truly rewarding role that has a direct impact on students, working in a team of individuals who are all committed to delivering a first-class service to learners.

The role is to support the ALS function during term time and to facilitate planning for each academic year. The role will therefore be undertaken on a term time (40 weeks) per year basis.

You will…

have recent experience and knowledge of working with and supporting the needs of learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities in a formal educational setting. You will also hold a Level 2 or equivalent in Literacy and Numeracy and a Level 3 specialist support qualification or similar.

Department Info

You will be part of the Student Support department and will report to the ALS Team Leader. You will play an active role in the curriculum team, working with key stakeholders such as Curriculum Leaders and Lecturers.
