Farm Operative (48 hours per week)

We are looking for a flexible and motivated individual with agricultural experience to join our Farm team across our range of enterprises.

You will provide support to all aspects of the farm enterprise as required including assisting with harvest, lambing and livestock management to ensure the highest levels of animal welfare are maintained. You will operate a range of farm machinery as required to contribute to the smooth running of the farm estate. You will also assist in the maintenance of farm machinery and assist the farm staff to provide meaningful and relevant experience to students as part of their course.

You will have previous experience of working in an arable and/or livestock business and have proven experience in the safe use and maintenance of a range of farm vehicles and machinery. You will hold a vocational farm based qualification and ideally hold a telehandler/forklift certificate. You will also have good numeracy and literacy skills. You should also have previous experience of working on beef, sheep and arable enterprises. You will have a flexible approach to you work to be able to meet seasonable and business needs including the ability to work at evenings and weekends. You will be able to demonstrate a genuine commitment to the efficient running of a mixed farm enterprise and be keen to make a difference to students who are starting out in their careers.
