Technician - Fabrication & Welding
About the Role
In this key role for our Construction department you will take an active role in supporting staff and students in workshop sessions by providing technical services to support the delivery of the College programmes.
You will have the opportunity to work in our Fabrication & Welding workshop and you will use your knowledge, experience and ideas to continuously improve our current processes and procedures with the potential to develop these further to create the best training facilities in South Yorkshire. You will also be responsible for providing technical assistance and advice by taking an active role in supporting academic staff and students in all workshop activities.
You will…
Have previous experience working within the industry and ideally of working with young people. You will hold a Fabrication & Welding Qualification and your L2 English and Maths or equivalent. You will need to have excellent team, communication and IT skills.
Desirable qualifications include Health & Safety and First Aid.
Department Info
Your line manager will be the Curriculum Team Leader of your area. You may be required to participate in projects with other technicians within Engineering/Construction and when required, other departments.
