SEND Coordinator (Educational Health and Care Plan)
About the Role
The primary function of this role is to coordinate the processes and procedures in line with RNN’s duty for learners with Education Health and Care Plans studying within RNN Group.
You will also, in some cases, be the primary point of contact for learners and be required to work collaboratively with the wider college community to ensure that the Group meets its duty in terms of the SEND Code of Practice and Local Authority Graduated Response.
As SEND Coordinator you will be responsible for coordinating the processes and procedures to ensure that RNN Group meets its duty outlined in the SEND Code of Practice. You will chair EHCP annual reviews and represent the College on behalf of Local Authorities. You will effectively prepare EHCP reports and reviews as appropriate and monitor performance and progression of the learners with EHCP’s in conjunction with both curriculum and support staff.

To achieve this, you will be required to have a high level of professionalism, communication and personal skills. A background in SEND support and extensive knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice is essential. You will also have a level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy and hold a specialist qualification in a relevant subject area, or be willing to work towards.
In addition to a sound knowledge of SEND, High Needs and a broad range of health & medical related issues this role requires you to possess a high level of professionalism, good verbal and written communication skills, an ability to accurately record information in a timely manner, empathy and flexibility to meet the needs of a variety of learners and their families.
Department Info
You will be employed within the ALS Team within the student support services department structure under the overall management of the Head of SEND and High Needs. You will report directly to the ALS Team Leader for professional, personal and organisational direction.
