Due to continued growth of the department we have an exciting opportunity to join our Sports and Public Services department on a Part Time, Hourly Paid Basis
Kirklees College is a large and successful FE college which was rated Good following our last Ofsted inspection in March 2023. Learners achieve high levels of success due to the quality and commitment of our teaching staff, with students benefitting greatly from their vocational and professional expertise. We are now seeking talented and enthusiastic individual(s) to join the Faculty to deliver outstanding teaching and learning sessions to a wide range of students on our range of Sport and Public Services and Fitness Qualifications.
We have evening classes and day time classes and have a range of flexible options to potentially fit in with your other commitments. Job Sharing could be an option for the right candidate(s). The Department offers L1-L3 Sport and PS courses to 16-19 year olds as well as a range of health and fitness qualifications. We would welcome applications from unqualified teachers with a wealth of industry experience either from the armed forces, the sports sector or the health and fitness industry.
Their would be an expectation to immediately start to work towards your L5 teaching qualifications via a Teaching Apprenticeship for any unqualified teachers. The qualifications necessary for this role are a minimum of Level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C) and a related industry qualification at Level 3+. We would ideally prefer candidates to have lots of experience within the industry and a Level 6 qualification too.
As a learning organisation and as part of our commitment to your continued professional development we may require you to complete an apprenticeship standard or framework that relates to this opportunity. If you have supplied an e-mail address, should you be shortlisted for interview, we will contact you via your e-mail address. Please ensure that you check your 'Spam' or 'Junk' mailboxes, as sometimes emails can be diverted to these folders.
