In the role of Care Coordinator for Vulnerable Students, you will work across all sites and in this varied role you work in partnership with virtual schools and social workers and internal college staff to promote a culture in which care experienced young people believe they can succeed and aspire.
The Care Coordinator will provide advocacy for care experienced students, to support them to overcome barriers to progression and success. The ideal candidate will need to be flexible to the demands of the duties promoting safe, pleasant and positive culture for everyone. You will promote positive behaviour throughout college. You will have previous experience of working with young people and adults, including disengaged ‘hard to reach’ students, and be able to understand the range of support which may be necessary to help them succeed. You will have experience of providing mentoring and pastoral support for an identified caseload, with positive outcomes. You will need excellent communication skills, a commitment to the welfare of young people in education and a willingness to undertake relevant staff development.
Ideally, you’ll have a minimum qualification of Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C). Qualified to a minimum of level 3, preferably in a relevant discipline youth/social work, IAG, teaching, training or coaching, management, health etc. It’s important that you’re able to communicate effectively, engage with young people and demonstrate our College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.

Hours / weeks: 18.5 hours / 40 weeks - this is on a fixed term basis until 12th July 2024.
Actual salary range: £11,189.04 - £11,872.87
