About the Role
As an Exam Access Arrangements Needs Assessor you will be responsible for carrying out specialist exam access arrangements to ensure learners who require it, have the appropriate reasonable adjustments during any examinations taken during their programme of study.
The function of this role is to support learners with additional needs to access learning, college facilities and fully participate in general College activities; having access to any specific exam arrangements as evidenced as the learner’s usual way of working to ensure they are not disadvantaged.
What You Will Do
- You will be supporting learners with emotional and behavioural difficulties, and have worked in a similar role previously.
- You will need to plan, prepare and implement support plans and carry out assessments to support young people and/or vulnerable adults to be successful in their studies.
- Be the primary point of contact for learners and work collaboratively with the wider college community to ensure that the Group meets its duty in terms of the SEND Code of Practice and the JCQ regulations in relation to exam access arrangements.
- You will bring passion and commitment to the role, ensuring students have the correct reasonable adjustments in place for their exams.
- You will have the ability to work with a wide age range of students and develop good working relationships with staff and students accross the college network.
- You will work with autonomy and be flexible and have a keen sense of detail to ensure assessments are completed within an appropriate timeline and prioritised depending on the exam board deadlines.
- You will report directly to the Examination and Assessment Lead within the central SEND Team, under the overall management of the Head of SEND.
- You will work closely with wider SEND colleagues to ensure that support for learners with ALS requirements is implemented consistently across college.
- You will work collaboratively with Cross College staff including SEND Team Mangers, SEND Team Leaders, LSA's, Campus Safeguarding Lead, SEND administrators, Curriculum staff, exam colleagues and other Stakeholders as and when appropriate.
