Caretaker/Construction Technician

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our construction team as a caretaker and technician for our site in Higham Ferrers.

This is a full-time role with typical working hours of 7.30am - 4.30pm.

You will complete a range of repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure the site is ready for use each day. You will liaise with contractors when they are on site and complete regular checks on facilities to maintain high standards. In addition you will prepare work areas and materials for practical classes and maintain accurate stock levels. You will ensure the resources and tools are stored securely and work in line with current legislation, codes of practice and College policies. You will support students in the completion of their practical work under the direction of members of the teaching staff and be committed to promoting the college’s commitment to best practice in equality, diversity & inclusion.

You will have previous experience of working in a similar construction or maintenance role. You will have good numeracy and literacy skills and be able to evidence strong communication skills. You will be able to use basic IT systems although training will be provided if necessary. You will have a keen eye for health and safety and have a genuine commitment to high standards.
