We are looking for an inspiring maths teacher who has a passion for teaching and learning along with the ability to engage and motivate students. The ideal candidate will be passionate about students, ensuring that they are provided with an outstanding learning journey whilst at Harrogate College. The role will involve working across the college to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills Maths to learners in all curriculum areas. 

What You Will Do

  • Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources including the development of on-line learning resources.

  • Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods to engage and develop learners

  • Create effective assessment activities, provide developmental and timely feedback to motivate and inspire learners to improve 

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with students and provide support and encouragement to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Join a friendly, supportive, hard-working team who are passionate about developing learners self-esteem, abilities and progress.

About You

  • You will have experience teaching Maths at a range of levels including GCSE.
  • You will be qualified to degree level in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • You will hold, or be working towards a recognised teaching qualification. 
  • You will have excellent classroom management skills, a commitment to creating an inclusive, nurturing environment for students.
  • You will apply restorative practice to your communications with students and colleagues and be a proactive, flexible and supportive member of the team. 
  • You will also have experience of quality assurance processes and contribute enthusiastically to the overall success of the department and college and all students.
