Foundation Studies are looking for a Specialist Personal Care Assistant to join our PMLD department. We are a friendly, enthusiastic team with a passion for working with a diverse group of young people, to deliver an outstanding experience to our students, visitors and stakeholders. You will be part of the department's transition into a brand new building so will be working in a busy environment. What You Will Do

  • You will co-ordinate the personal care and medical needs of our learners to ensure they are comfortable and cared for during their college day. In addition to this you will liaise with parents/carers/teaching staff/NHS professionals.
  • You will maintain and keep accurate administrative work.
  • You will support our experienced teachers to contribute to the delivery of our courses in Independent Living skills with the focus on the key aspects of The Preparation for Adulthood framework.

About You

  • You will have GCSE English and Mathematics at Level 2/Grade C or above and a willingness to improve in one or both disciplines to level 3 or above.
  • You will have experience of working in a team in an educational setting.
  •  You will have relevant experience, knowledge and understanding of working in the Sector around Caring for young people
  • You will have experience of working with students who have high needs or SEN to support their learning through identifying strategies and preparing young people for adulthood.
  • Experience of working with gastronomy/PEG feeds and Jejunostomy feeds.
