About the Role

The job role will be based around supporting Level 3 Engineering Apprentices in the workplace, assessing the requirements to meet specific Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours associated with Apprenticeship Standards in Machining, Fitting, MOET and support technicians.

What You Will Do

There will be a requirement to teach 1 or 2 days per week on the programme which could be classroom based or workshop based. Typical subjects are either workshop based like Fitting, Turning, Milling Electrical wiring & Testing, Electronics, & Mechatronics or classroom based delivery of Health & Safety, Communications, Mechanical Principles, CAD, CAM, Lean Manufacturing, Mechanical Maintenance, Pneumatics & Hydraulics, Fluid Power and Mechanical Fault Diagnosis.

The teaching requirement will be related to your subject specialism along with basic Engineering units.

Leeds City College extensively make use of the OneFile E-portfolio system, so experience working with OneFile or a similar E-portfolio would be an advantage.

About You

Ideally, the candidate will be apprentice trained with a minimum of 6 years experience in the industry. They will hold a relevant Level 4 qualification in the subject area along with a teaching qualification and an assessor qualification. Candidates who only have one of these awards will be supported in achieving the relevant missing award.

Experience in teaching or assessing in an Engineering environment would be advantageous.
