SEND Hourly Paid Lecturer (HPL)

Westminster Kingsway College are recruiting a specialist SEND Lecturers to work varying hours across sites (Alexandra Centre, King’s Cross and Kennet west) on an hourly paid basis.

About the role:
We require teachers to lead and teach on our Profound and Multiple Learning Disability (PMLD) courses, MLD/SLD provision and a specialist teacher to work with our cohort of learners with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated behavioural needs. These are specialist posts and experience in these fields are crucial. The post holder will be primarily responsible for providing effective teaching, assessment and tutoring and take a lead in the learners’ pastoral care.

About you:
You will have an excellent understanding of the learning needs of students with either PMLD or ASD and preferably a specialist qualification in teaching this cohort. You will be able to baseline assess students and document the learner journey, setting effective SMART targets and identifying distance travelled. You will be an enthusiastic specialist teacher who can differentiate effectively and who has effective classroom management.
