We are looking for a full time Curriculum Manager for our Work Skills and Employability Department. The post holder will take lead responsibility for Work Skills and Employability Curriculum (Computing, Digital Skills, Business Management, Personal Development/Career Development).
The post holder will manage specialist rooms, equipment and resources associated with your subject areas and ensure that they are appropriately equipped; to oversee the maintenance of specialist equipment and ensure that the facilities and activities comply with health and safety requirements. They will evaluate the programme's resource needs and requirements and to input those needs into planning cycles. To be responsible for requisition of equipment and consumables and to ensure materials are available when needed and costs are within the budget set. They will ensure that risk assessment and risk mitigation actions are in place and effective for rooms, equipment and activities. They will deliver Advice and Guidance sessions/teach minimum of 108 hrs per year as agreed with the Director of Adult Community Learning.
The post holder will be expected to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the department - the standard working day will be 10-6. However, working evenings and some weekends will be required.
General Information
The Mary Ward Centre offers high quality adult education and community services, covering the areas of Digital Media, Computing & IT, Business and Management, English and Maths, Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Social Care, Writing and Publishing, Visual Arts, Music and Singing.
In the current academic year (2022-23) the centre’s main premises are at Queen Square in Holborn and we also hold sessions at our other site at Blackfriars Settlement, 1 Rushworth Street SE1 0RB, which is a short walk from Waterloo and Southwark underground stations. From academic year 2023-24 our main site will move to a new purpose-built premises on Stratford High Street, 10 minutes’ walk from the main train and bus station and 5 minutes from Stratford High Street DLR. We will continue to deliver courses from the Blackfriars settlement as well. Our students will continue to come from all walks of life, living both locally and London wide (and beyond). Their education, work and life experience varies enormously.
Pension: Teachers’ Pension Scheme.
Annual Leave: 35 Days plus Bank Holidays.
