Employability Mentor

We are looking for a student focused Employability Mentor who will ensure that students have access to work experience and industry placements, employability, and personal development guidance to support their achievement and future progression. Providing information, advice and guidance that encourages students to make informed choices and understand what they need to do to reach and succeed in their chosen career.

• Engage with employers to find work experience and industry placement opportunities for all students that require it as part of their programme

• Undertake one to one sessions with students to discuss their ambitions and tailor activities and work experience/industry placements to meet their needs

• Work with employers to run employer events, talks, workshops as required to broaden student awareness of future opportunities

• Develop and run employability sessions such as interview skills and CV writing to support student progression

• Work closely with colleagues in curriculum and learning resource centres to meet student needs

• To attend and support events such as open events, school liaison and interview evenings and as part of a team Rota

• To participate in the Colleges main enrolment periods, participating in the assessment and enrolment of students

• Be aware of and follow College policies and procedures, with particular attention to health and safety, safeguarding, risk management, equality and diversity, quality and our values and behaviours. You will be required to attend training as necessary.
