Learning Resource Assistant

The Academic Services Team is looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to join a team of innovative, responsive and customer-focused staff.  The successful candidate will provide support to staff and students in accessing information and services within the Learning Resource Centre based primarily at the Hub. Learning Resources are an essential and well-regarded College service which supports the high-quality learning and teaching necessary for the success of all students.

This post is 18.5 hrs per week. 

Tuesday - 09:30-14:00

Wednesday - 09:30-14:00

Thursday - 08.30-14:00

Friday - 11:30-16:00 

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A-C, a research- or library-relevant qualification, excellent communication and customer care skills as well as the ability to work individually and in a team environment.  Duties will include providing access to physical and electronic resources and information services for staff and students, promoting services and communicating using a wide range of social media, and maintaining appropriate study environments.

The ability to work flexibly is essential as the successful applicant may be required to work in any of the Learning Resources environments and at short notice in response to service demand.  The work pattern includes regular evening duties and occasional Saturday duties (term-time only), with time off in lieu.
