We have a range of available lessons to our 16-19 year old Health and Social Care students at both our Huddersfield and Dewsbury Campus. 

Hours: 37 hours, 52 weeks per year (Fixed Term until 30th June 2024).

Kirklees College is a large and successful FE college which was rated Good following our last Ofsted inspection. Learners achieve high levels of success due to the quality and commitment of our teaching staff, with students benefitting greatly from their vocational and professional expertise.

We are now seeking talented and enthusiastic individual(s) to join the Faculty to deliver outstanding teaching and learning sessions to a wide range of students, including adults, 16-18 year olds, and those studying introductory courses. We have evening classes and day time classes and have a range of flexible options to potentially fit in with your other commitments.

The Faculty offers a broad range of qualifications across the Health, Sport, Science, Childcare and Public Service sectors. We welcome applications from newly qualified teachers or applicants with relevant sector experience (especially from a health / medical background) who are looking at taking their first steps towards a career in teaching and education. We can support with all elements of teacher training for the right person. The department is looking to recruit a teacher with the ability to enthuse, motivate and inspire every learner whether during the day in our 16-18 classes or in the evening with our adult and community learners. Industry Experience, Organisational skills, the ability to work autonomously and be an excellent communicator are key competencies required by this job. We would particularly welcome applications from individuals with experience of adult nursing and / or adult care or of a clinical background.

The qualifications necessary for this role are a minimum of Level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C) and a related industry qualification at Level 3+. We would ideally prefer candidates to have some experience of working in a FE College and have or be working towards a L5 Teaching Qualification. We could support the right candidate if these are not yet obtained through our extensive in-house teacher training programmes. To support our learners an essential criteria for this post is relevant industry experience to support our growing T-Level provisions at both campuses.
