We are seeking to appoint an inspirational English, EPQ, & Storytelling teacher. You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the English A Level (Lit & Lang combined course), GCSE Take 2 (Language, for resit), EPQ (Artefact), and Storytelling courses, with the aim of achieving exceptional outcomes in all qualifications; and providing a high quality experience for the students on all strands of the offer.

This role will be managed by the Head of English, EPQ, & Storytelling.

Role Responsibilities will include:

  • Responsibility for teaching English A Level, EPQ, GCSE & Storytelling lessons;
  • Ensuring excellent T&L practice in the classroom and adherence to LSA T&L policy;
  • Responsibility for ensuring students achieve at or above their target grades and demonstrate progress in their learning;
  • Working with the Dept team to deliver all key activities related to the English, EPQ & Storytelling courses including; collaborative planning, ensuring high quality feedback and & engagement in lessons;
  • Play an active pastoral role as an Academy tutor and ensure that the pastoral needs of our student body are supported;
  • To help foster a sense of belonging for all in the LSA community;
  • Actively promote the achievements of the student body;
  • Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of all students and provide learning experiences that are personalised to their needs;
  • Promotion of the English & EPQ department in a wider context, for example through running meaningful extra-curricular activities or building relationships with external organisations to provide speakers and facilitators for English & EPQ Masterclasses;
  • Engage with the LSA extended day by providing/supporting opportunities for LSA’s students outside of the teaching day as identified within the school priorities.
